Strategic plan sets north star and grows revenue from $2.7M to $5M

In 2016, Small Wins designed a comprehensive three-year strategic plan that identified a new North Star for Fight CRC and offered a framework for growth. The Board level report also detailed key recommendations in five functional areas and outlined year-over-year key performance metrics that the Fight CRC’s leadership team could use as a guide in their annual operational planning. In 2017 and again in 2020, we regrouped with their Development Director to design (2) two unique, actionable fundraising and engagement plans that grew revenue from $2.7M to $5M over 3.5 years.

Multi-year engagement takes Foundation from $500,000 to $2.5M

The Chris Long Foundation was eager leverage Chris Long as a professional athlete and to capture the momentum of their cornerstone initiative, Waterboys, but they lacked the manpower to scale. They partnered with Small Wins to formalize their development structure and processes and create scalable, national development campaigns. Through collaboration, we evolved their organizational strategy, developed, and managed innovative fundraising efforts, and created a portfolio of programs that helped the organization raise $2.5M in two years and laid a strong foundation for future growth and success.

End-of-year campaign raises 4x previous efforts

During their CDO and ED search, Girlstart leadership wanted to prioritize personal outreach and cultivation of their previous donors. We partnered together to build a multi-prong approach to their end of year campaign which included piloting major gift outreach, a Giving Tuesday sprint, and an email campaign. The team learned how to build an engagement arch, balance informing and asking, and raised 4x their previous EOY efforts, totaling over $50,000.

90% Engagement at a virtual patient summit

Many non-profits channel the importance power of events to inspire their community and expand on their mission. Post-pandemic, this is still a challenge for organizations, like I AM ALS, that serve immunocompromized populations. Despite zoom fatigue and a return work, we developed and organized a 2-day virtual action summit in March 2022 for over 60 attendees. This community-driven event was designed to improve the clinical trials for those living with ALS through a series of panels and stakeholder discussions. Our final report detailed key next steps and a set of recommendations that were informed by the solutions shared by their stakeholders. The organization was overjoyed by the clear path forward and how we elevated their community’s ideas and voices.

Peer-to-peer program raises $200,000 on international climb

By understanding the bandwidth of a small but mighty team, Small Wins set out to design an annual, turnkey international event for The Chris Long Foundation. Conquering Kili is a program designed for military veterans, professional athletes, and passionate clean waters advocates who raise valuable funds while hiking Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Small Wins developed and managed the program for 4 years and then successfully transitioned the management of the event to a Foundation staff member. Between 2017 and 2020, each event and climbing team raised an average of $200,000 for clean water projects in East Africa.

Quotes for projects heavily depend on the complexity, the length of your custom engagement, and whether we work together online or in-person.
But the question I always ask my clients is:

what is the real cost of staying exactly where you are today?
